How To Translate EKA2L1

From EKA2L1 Wiki

EKA2L1 supports localization for both PC and Android versions. For anyone that has an interest in helping but doesn't know how to code, translating the emulator is still very appreciated.

Please visit Crowdin to start translating.

How should I continue after clicking the Crowdin page

Look and choose the language you want to translate, in case you can't find your language, please feel free to contact the two project managers on Crowdin, or contact us directly on Discord.

There will be two files showing up with a folder tree:

  • eka2l1.ts: This is the base Qt localization file for PC.
  • strings.xml: This is the base localization file for Android.

Click on the file you want to translate, then you can start looking at the source string and translate.

Context is missing/source string has grammar error/source string can be improved

It's cool that you are able to spot that, feel free to contact us with the information above.

When will my translation be up in the emulator release?

All the translations will be committed to a separate branch/workspace created by Crowdin, and are usually merged for release every 1st and 15th of the month. Note that the release mentioned here is Github release.

In case you want it to be merged sooner because there doesn't seem to be the need to wait for other translations because of inactive, let us know through Crowdin messages or Discord server!
